Prof. Nikolina Naydenova from the Agrarian Faculty of Trakia University and Asst. Totyo Kolev From the Agricultural Institute in Stara Zagora comes the team of scientists who assist the company’s young owner. Mar-Iv 2016 Ltd – Marcello Kyuchukov , discovering the beneficial properties of donkey milk.

The company launched in 2018 and maintains 400 young animals, pasture-raised free-range to ensure the high quality of both the milk and the meat.

The company has won first prize at the International Plovdiv Fair as the winner in… the Innovation Competition. category Section “Products, machinery and technologies for the food and beverage industry” with its product “Brined cheese made from donkey milk”  

The event “FoodTech 2018”  was featured in all media, as donkey milk cheese and kashkaval became the hit of the exhibition.

For the valuable qualities of the milk, even in Ancient Greece, Hippocrates (the founder of medicine) prescribed it to relieve a variety of ailments.

Roman historian Pliny the Elder also wrote of the health benefits of donkey milk. In his works, he described it as alleviating fatigue, ulcers, poisoning, facial wrinkles, and more.

Cleopatra, the ruler of Egypt during the Roman Empire, was famous for her regular donkey-milk baths, which preserved her beauty and youth over the years.

In the modern world, donkey milk is also recognized as exceptionally beneficial and healthy. It helps children with milk allergies and can serve as a substitute for breast milk. It is likewise effective for people with eczema and psoriasis, and for relieving asthma and respiratory problems of all ages. The milk is a source of vitamins B, B12, and C, as well as other essential nutrients.

It contains over 60 times more vitamin C than breast milk. It has been found that donkey milk, with its qualities, is of significant importance for the proper functioning of the body.

The company is introducing to the Bulgarian market for the first time brined cheese, kashkaval, and fermented dairy beverages made entirely from 100% donkey milk.
